Super cute and adorable lambs to wear or display!
I have made brooches with a mold I created from a vintage babies rattle!
The rattle is a 1950s toy and had seen better days, so I managed to carefully take it apart and make a mold, it was interesting as the 'rattle' part was some peculiar dried beans full of holes!
This was a personal project that has been successful, so these adorable beasts have found their way into my shop and will most likely be a permanent addition, as they are so versatile to decorate and I absolutely enjoy making them immensely!
Pastel shades in pearlised tones make them look beautiful, and once I have chosen a perfect mix to colour the resin, I hand pour and patiently wait on the curing process.
Once the lambs are released from the mold, any rough edges are sanded away
The original rattles didn't have much character at all, just partially scratched black dots for eyes and hooves! So I had free reign to choose colours and design their little features to make them my own.
Being a collector of Vintage toys and Kitsch cute ephemera, I look at cute faces every day, so this was no hard task! Once their little features are painted on, I glaze with an iridescent coating on the face and hooves .
These lambs are made to order and every one is unique in it's own way
At 22g, this lamb may be weightier than the average brooch, so would suit a coat, or the makeup sponge on the reverse of your clothing is my best trick!
