Pewter Key hanger featuring acorns and leaves and having 4 brass hooks for keys.
To make this I draw my design on to the pewter which I then raise and define using a boxwood tool to stretch and mould the image. The raised design is then filled and mounted onto a base. Once on the base the background of the picture is is worked further, patinated and finally polished . This pewter does not tarnish like silver but can be buffed up if necessary with a silver cloth or silver wadding. This modern pewter is shiny compared to vintage pewter.
the Key holder is 8" long by 5" at the tallest point. I have attached 3 hangers on the back . If hanging single keys on each hook then it need only be hung by the centre hanger but if bunches of keys are hung on it then it is best to use the two outer hangers and fix 2 screws in the wall for it to hang from otherwise the uneven weight would make the key holder hang unevenly.
