Whilst sorting through my mountain of vintage fabrics I stumbled across a pile of Damask curtains and off cuts.
They have been waiting for me to turn them into something new for an age.
In the corner of the room I spied a box of vintage picture frames that I have collected over the years.
Then boom a flash of inspiration, there’s a few doodles of girls sitting in one of my sketchbooks just waiting to show themselves to the world.
That’s exactly how this piece of textile art came into being !

Meet Evie !
You may have seen Evie before on one of my cushions, she spoke to me recently and asked if she could become a piece of art to hang on a wall ... I couldn’t refuse when she asked so nicely.
I have hand stitched her on a piece of 1960’s green Damask fabric using various embroidery stitches... I have adorned her bow with purple French knots.
This hand embroidered piece has been laced onto acid free mount board and framed in a wooden gold vintage frame without glass, as glass distorts the stitches.
Including the frame this piece of wall art is 21.5cm x 16.5cm and is 1.5cm deep.
Without the frame it measures 17.5cm x 12.5cm.
As the frame is vintage it may have a few little scuffs or imperfections, personally I think it adds to its charm.
This unique piece of art would look lovely on your wall, or would make a great gift for someone special in your life.
As this piece is unique I will send Royal Mail First Class signed for.
