I have always had a fasination with Eygptology particularly hierogliphs and symbology which I translated into patterns. Having made a number of shaped trinket boxes in oak and walnut, I wanted to enhance the surface decoration and experimented with inlaying the top with epoxy. The pattern was cut through the box lid, inlaid, sanded, sanded & sanded and then coated with a drying oil finish, which i hope you agree, provides a very attractive and durable finish.
