This bee was from the very first wonderful exhibition of the FIFTY BEES which was held at ACEarts in Somerton, Somerset. There are very few of the first fifty leaf, and this one in a special favourite of mine.

This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

Full description

This is Bee 36, Lassioglossum sexnotastums or Female Ashy Furrow Bee.

It’s built into this delightful, very old, Edison Bell Gramophone Needle tin.

It’s from the very first FIFTY BEES: The Interconnectedness of All Things in 2017 which took place at ACEarts in Somerton.

There’s something very satisfying about holding an old tin in your hand. Especially so when you know that these needles were used by people investing their time and money listening to music.

At this time of the year, rain falling, it makes me think about outside performances, festivals perhaps, that we didn’t attend this year.

So this one’s for all you music fans, for all of the future music moments - I personally can’t wait.

I do have other bees left from the five e exhibitions. Much of these have been shared via the FIFTY BEES Instagram page.

Please do get in touch if you see one that you’d like to give a home to.
