I am a big fan of the block colour work of Brian Cooke, also Japanese printmaking methods. I wanted to experiment with colour overlays and gradients, which this printmaking method and my press allows me to do.

Full description

An evocative three colour lino-cut with subtle gradients, printed on my 1950s Vandercook proof press. This is made from three different colour blocks with no separate outline, in the style of Brian Cooke, who produced the cover illustrations for Guides To Britain in the 1940s & 50s. Far more complicated than a reduction block, where part of the block is cut away for each colour pass, but gives an added dynamism!

Paper: white 300 gsm Somerset Velvet. 33 x 50cm. Due to the nature of the printing process, there is some variation in colour throughout the run, making each piece unique.

The poster will be carefully rolled and mailed Royal Mail Standard 1st Class, in a tube. If you require Royal Mail Signed For, or a different level of delivery service, please contact me.
