This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It is a Noah's Ark complete with animals.
There is a zebra, a giraffe and an elephant.
The hull of the ark is in sea colours of blue and green.
The cabin is made from raindrop glass (for obvious reasons !) and the roof is heavily textured amber and brown (to give the effect of wood).
There are two little 'lamps' made from crystal glass beads hanging from the roof. I have 'tiled' the top of the roof by adding a piece of twisted wire and added a wave effect round the hull with decorative copper foil and solder.
The Noah's Ark is 12cm long and 9cm high. It hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely soldered to the roof of the ark.
It looks super hanging in the window where it catches the light and would make a lovely and very unique present.
Please note though this is made of glass and is a decoration to hang in the window and is not a toy.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece even when making the same pattern.
With this design I very carefully select my type of glass to give a splodgy giraffe, a striped zebra but each ark is always slightly different from each other.
