Hello! Welcome to my Folksy Art Shop.
I am a UK based artist living in the West Midlands where I produce the original linocut prints and paintings. My work is inspired by all the lovely places I have travelled to and collected photo's and memories of over the years. Nature and landscape are 2 of my biggest inspirations.
I graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in Graphic Design back in 1988 and have practised my art ever since. For a number of years I specialised in pen and ink drawings but over the past few years I have explored other media, and I'm always open to trying new materials and art forms.

I wanted to make that lovely Beech tree appear like an actor centre stage in its green velvet stockings of moss with the chorus behind of all those golden brown trees.

Full description
This original hand pressed linocut print takes you into a wood where a moss covered beech tree grows among the bracken and fern. It is based on photographs I took while on a walk in a Scottish wood while on holiday some years ago.
I made this print entirely by hand and pressed it at home using the back of a spoon and a household iron.
This is print number 4 of an edition of 10 prints which I made using the reduction linocut process. As the linoplate was destroyed during the production process there will be no other original prints made from this plate.
This artwork is printed in Schmincke Aqua Linoldruck Ink (Water Based) on Fabriano Accademia Artist's Paper 200gsm.
The print measures approx 6 inches x 8 inches and the paper is approx. A4 (portrait orientation).
The print will come unframed and unmounted.
It will be packaged in a cellophane packet and wrapped in tissue.
I will post it out to you in a board backed envelope and I will send it using Royal Mail's Signed For Service in the UK and International Signed For and/or Tracked Service if sending overseas. I usually pop a piece of card inside the envelope for added protection, this is cut down from recycled sources.
