Purple heart wooden chopping board. Beautiful Scottish elm burr with purple resin infill. This board has been made from solid burr from a Scottish Elm tree that is hundreds of years old. The burr is simply stunning, full of tight swirls, pipping and colour. This wood has been shaped into a heart shape, the wood has been cleaned and all the loose bits of burr removed before mixing a lavender colour resin and starting to fill the bigger cracks. This piece has been designed with natural rustic feel in mind, so we kept the smaller cracks and pipping as nature intended. This piece is solid burr and very exclusive. It has been treated very carefully and sanded and shaped by hand in our own workshop, no machine work, all traditional methods.This piece would suit someone looking for an alternative to their kitchen chopping board, its very special, a real luxury item!

345 mm from top of the heart to the bottom all measurements are approx due to the rustic nature of this piece.

This chopping board has had no chemicals or harsh treatements to it. It has been finished with hand sanding, lots of elbow grease and natural food oil.

For cleaning please just rinse under water and use a soapy soft cloth, dry the board and then apply a good quality olive oil after every other use, this will ensure the wood is kept fed and retains its colour. This would make a really special wedding or anniversary gift.
