Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

I love making toys that I hope will become childhood favourites, with a simple shape that is easy for little hands to hold.
My toys are made with great care, to the highest standards. Each one, with hand embroidered features, is unique and would make a lovely special gift.
My elephant toy is adapted from a pattern by Emslansemlanskreativa.

This little elephant teether would make a delightful baby shower or new baby gift.
He stands approx. 9 cm tall, (not including teether ring), and is 11cm long from trunk to tail.
He has been designed to be safe for babies to play with and meets the requirements of the Toy (Safety) Regulations 2011. He displays the new UKCA mark on his label.
I crochet with 100% cotton yarn which has a lovely soft texture and use squishy 100% hi-loft polyester toy stuffing. His sleepy eyes are hand embroidered with grey cotton embroidery thread.
The wooden ring is made from pure, untreated, beech wood. No additives, chemicals or dyes are added during the making of the rings I use. The ring is supplied in its raw state without oils or waxes to avoid unexpected allergic reactions. I recommend treating the ring regularly with olive or coconut oil to preserve the wood.
Wooden teething rings are WIPE CLEAN ONLY and should not be soaked or submerged in water. The elephant is attached to the ring with velcro so can be easily removed for washing. I recommend a gentle hand wash in warm water, dry flat and do not tumble dry.
Please check the item before every use and remove at the first sign of wear and tear. Never leave a baby unaccompanied with a teething ring. Adult supervision is required at all times.
Your teething ring will be posted to you carefully wrapped in tissue paper, in a cardboard box. I use minimal packaging that can be recycled or reused.
