So excited to be selected to exhibit in York Open Studios for the 5th year running. I will be located at Fullford School, so if you want to meet in person the dates are 5-6 and 12-13 April 2025
This print is response to the Covid 19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown period here in the UK. When we were allowed out to go for walks, we would often find ourselves exploring the river side or meadows nearby. The need to be near to nature was quite compelling and I feel that we were lucky to have such a wealth of nature right on our doorstep. I'd lag behind taking photos of whatever plants and flowers I found peeking out of the hedges and fields. The grass was long and the flowers were ever changing each time we'd go out.
This print is produced using three individually carved plates, printed in layers in different grades of colour to give depth. The plates are printed one at a time with hand wound press, then left for a period of dry before adding each layer. The title is "Into The Meadows".

Available in winter grey on 300 gsm Snowdon printmakers paper

Each design is created using hand carved plate of traditional lino, carved with specialist tools and printed with a hand wound press. Every print is unique and completely individual due to its handmade nature. It's always so satisfying peeling back to paper to reveal to final print.
