The idea for the mask came from some tiny African sculptures I saw in the British Museum. I then thought of using the heads as stands for ear studs when not being worn. The plinth idea came from carved Chinese seals and to add interest I decided to use one of my own lampworked glass beads as decoration.

Full description
This one-off figurative stand, with its own ear studs, has been designed and made by John in our workshop in Yorkshire, it is made from sterling silver, wood set in resin and a lampworked glass bead. The ear studs feature opal doublets made using solid lab grown opal which are set in sterling silver.
The ear studs are 6mm in diameter.
We exhibit and sell our work through quality Craft/Design centres throughout the U.K. as well as through the Dazzle contemporary jewellery exhibitions.
