I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I took my inspiration for this set of bowls from the Japanese. I used their principles of mindfulness embedded in Wabi-Sabi . Ceramic tea bowls or Chawan and in my case follow the idea of Kanso or simplicity. Whilst these turned bowls could not be put to the same use I hope they embody the same principle.
