Bathroom mirror in Macintosh rose design. Pewter edged mirror decorated with relief pewter Glasgow rose design.
Here is one of my unique and original hanging wall mirrors. This one measures 20 inches high and approx 6 inches at the base and 2 inches at the top. I make these mirrors to order so each one will differ a little because all the glass is hand cut and every design is hand worked in the pewter. This mirror has pink stones set in to the flowers bit you can choose to have another colour to suit your decor.
My first brush with pewter repousse art was on a holiday to Scotland when we visited Hill House in Helensborough, just outside Glasgow. It is a beautiful house designed by Charles Rennie Macintosh who was a Scottish architect and designer. Born in 1868 his work was the major influence on Art Nouveau in the UK. Every thing in the house was designed by him, aided by his wife, Margaret Macdonald Macintosh.
Margaret made some pewter panels for the house and when I saw them they inspired me to try pewter work for myself. That was 25 years ago and now I am well known for my pewter mirrors and panels.
