Get creative with hand dyed paper yarn
Knit it – twist it - wrap it – stitch it – knot it – loop it – weave it - colour it – snip it - crochet it – curl it – wind it - chain it - braid it – the list goes on ….
Paper yarns are extremely versatile and are often experimented with by jewellers, card crafters, textile artists to name a few.
The yarns have differing qualities, depending on their twist and profile – the round twist yarns tend to be springy and the flat yarns are softer and more malleable. The round yarns have the most strength, (think Lloyd Loom furniture) and they are all water repellent. Once woven, knitted, stitched, crocheted or braided they can even be hand washed.
I have put together an introductory taster pack which consists of 10 skeins of paper yarns each with 10 – 15 mts in length. You will receive 1x 2 ply round, 4x fine round, 3x narrow flat and 2x broad flat in a selection of colours.
I have only previously sold my paper yarns direct to customers at Woolfest and Yarndale but as Woolfest is online again this year I thought I’d pop some into my Folksy shop so you can still get your creative fix!
NB. I only dye the yarns in small batches – so these taster packs are a one-off !
Also the broad flat yarn is not hand dyed by me!
