I designed this sunny yellow colour scheme of my Colour Wheel suncatcher on a grey rainy weekend just after the Autumn equinox when I suspected we had seen the last of the year's summer sunshine. This will remind me of it.
My fused glass dichroic nuggets, made in my glass fusing kiln, are great fun to make but the dichroic glass I use is very expensive. I guard it like gold dust. I love opening the kiln when the fusing is complete as I never know quite what I will have made.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I designed this one to remind me of the summer sunshine when the duller days of autumn started to appear.
A wonderful bright yellow burst. A big splash of bright summer to hang in your window and remind you of the sun on the days when it is hiding.
At the centre is a big sun coloured red and yellow glass nugget which I made in my glass kiln from fusing glass with accents of sparkly dichroic glass. These nuggets are unique and unrepeatable as each turns out different.
The nugget is set inside a 16 segmented circle. I've used lots of different types of glass for these, textured and steaky. It has lots of movement and interest. I've also included a few hints of red to match the central nugget.
The circle is framed for strength and neatness with twisted wire.
This is 13cms in diameter and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top of the suncatcher.
it is would make a wonderfully bright addition to any room.
It is totally individual and I am really pleased with it. It looks equally good on the wall as in the window.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure they are unique.
I can never make another just the same as this, as my dichroic nuggets are unrepeatable.
