I love the shape of a heart and decided to separate it into two sections in order that it can be used together or in pieces. I also love the idea of a broken heart being brought together to form a complete heart.

Handcrafted from solid Pine Wood this purple heart tea light holder has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. The Heart separates in half in order that the candle holder can be used together or in individual pieces. This tea light candle holder makes a fantastic ornament for the mantlepiece or table top. A perfect present for a number of occasions such as Christmas or a romantic night in.
Each candle holder is approximately 13 cm long, 12.5 cm at it's widest point and 2.5 cm deep. Standard tea lights fit this product.

I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
Having chosen a suitable size piece of wood, the heart shape was cut out using a scrollsaw. The edges of the candle holder were then gently chamfered before being sanded to a smooth finish, before applying a coat of wood stain. When dry the heart was sanded to remove the right amount of stain to highlight the grain of the wood. Several coats of lacquer were then applied before fitting the heart with brass candle holders, as recommended by Trading Standards.
Tea lights are not included. Always take care when using candles. Never leave them unattended.
