Pegasus is a star constellation named after the winged horse in Greek mythology. The rising of the constellation marks the arrival of spring.
Being a nature lover, this is very appropriate, as this is my favourite time of the year because everything in nature is changing and promising new life and new hope.
Pegasus was an immortal, winged horse which sprang from the neck of the beheaded Gorgon Medusa. It was tamed by Bellerophon who rode it into battle against the fire-breathing monster Chimera. Later the hero attempted to fly to heaven but Zeus caused the horse to buck throwing him back down to earth in disgrace. Pegasus flew to Olympus where he became the thunderbolt-bearer of Zeus.

Full description
This unusual wooden Pegasus Jigsaw Puzzle, has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. The mythological horse would make a lovely table centerpiece or ornament. This would make a perfect gift for a number of occasions such as a housewarming or birthday, Christmas or even as a gift for brother.
The approximate height is 21 cm, the approximate width is 16 cm and the thickness is approximately 2.5 cm.

A piece of recycled wood was cleaned and sanded to enable me to upcycle it. The design was applied to the wood and cut using a Scroll Saw. The puzzle was then assembled and disassembled to ensure that all the pieces fitted together smoothly. Each piece was lightly sanded all around to give them a slight round over effect. It was then coated in Danish Oil and buffed to a smooth finish.
I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
I class this puzzle as an ornament, however this can be used as a jigsaw. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
