I LOVE buttons - especially vintage ones! A few years ago I ventured into my local fabric shop in Truro and found a whole host of vintage buttons they'ed just purchased! Naturally I bought as many as I could! I'm a huge fan of Fantasy, Medieval manuscripts and the art of Heraldry and just had to buy this Griffin button!
I'm a bit obsessed with UTEE/Embossing Enamel at the moment and am fascinated by how you can put it in moulds! So I thought I would make some silicone moulds of a few of my buttons and see how they came out! WOW! The detail is more amazing than I thought they would be! If you're a fan of vintage buttons, Medieval animals, Illuminated Manuscripts or Mythology - these earrings are perfect for you!
For decorative purposes only. for Adult use only. Not to be given to under 5 years old, due to small parts. Choking hazard. Metal of earring hooks DO NOT contain any Lead, Nickel or Cadmium, complying with the UK and EU Skin Sensitivity laws.

Since classical antiquity, griffins were known for guarding treasures and priceless possessions! Maybe this pair of Griffin stud earrings - made from the mould of a vintage button - can become one of your prized possessions.
These gorgeous stud earrings have been made using UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) also called Jewel Enamels. Firstly, I created a silicone mould from a genuine vintage button of a Griffin - a Mythological creature used in Heraldry - from my personal collection.
The Griffin has its wings unfurled and clawed feet extended, surrounded by vines and leaves. The colour of embossing crystal I've used is called Marbled Plum. It has plummy purple hues with deep red and when melted they swirl together to create a marbled effect.
I've glued high quality hypoallergenic surgical steel studs to the rear of the earrings and added surgical steel scroll backs to hug them to your ear lobes! They measure approximately 2cm in diameter and a depth of approximately 0.7 cm.
These unusual and unique earrings will come to you safe and carefully packaged in a UK Made eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box (hand-folded by me!) - perfect for gifting (or as a treat for yourself!) They are a fabulous work of medieval style art on your ears!
End of line - no defects.
