I wanted to use the yarn up and found the pattern in one of my books from the 70's.

Full description
This handmade hat with cables is knitted from a vintage pattern. The French yarn used is an aran weight wool blend in a mottled blue and grey. The hat has a folded back ribbed brim and a 'stalk' at the top.
Colour - blue and grey
Yarn - 54% acrylic 42% wool 4% polyamide
Size - 6-18mths
Measurements - circumference 34cm
Washing - machine washable delicate 30 degrees
