Inspired by the traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs - pysanky, with the idea of what would happen if rather than being decorated, they had been laid by beautiful birds, which then hatch into colourful chicks that share the same patterns as the egg.

Full description
A blue and yellow pysanka - a traditional Ukrainian decorated egg, is patterned like a bright star in a dark blue sky. The colourful egg is starting to crack as a golden yellow beak starts to break through.
This original pysanky artwork is hand painted in acrylics by Kim Onyskiw on a 10cm x 10cm (4" x 4") canvas board, with a layer of clear varnish to make it more durable. An 18mm magnet is attached to the back so it can stick to a fridge or other magnetic surface.
If sold, 50% of the item price of this painting will be donated to AUGB's Help Ukraine fund.
Designed by Kim Onyskiw in Huddersfield
