I've always loved paisley eiderdowns and had "hoarded" this fabric for a while. With only a small amount, I decided that a classic "postage stamp" quilt,using 2 1/2" squares would make the best use of it. The blue/white check fabric was the perfect match and as the quilt came together,I realised that I had also managed to produce a traditional Single Irish chain within the design.

Vintage fabric patchwork quilt. Made using vintage blue/rose paisley eiderdown fabric, vintage blue/white check fabric, with modern white cotton.The backing is modern white cotton and the binding is the same blue/white check and paisley fabrics that feature in the quilt. The binding has been handstitched to the back of the quilt.This is a "postage stamp" quilt with a single Irish Chain design. The back features a handstitched,hand appliqued hexie flower,hand embroidered with date it was made NB The date can be removed if required. One of a kind,heirloom quality.
Machine quilted
Wadding (internal layer) - 80% cotton/20% polyester
