It's always a thrill to find the ideal selection of beads for a dragonfly and then completing the scene with other materials that can suggest the insect's waterside environment.

Full description

This Beaded Beasties dragonfly is made from a mix of new and recycled beads including tiger's eye spheres and small, rose gold, fire polished, faceted beads. The wings are cut from acetate and have hand drawn veining in gold.

The scene is completed with reeds and rushes made from raffia, dried seedheads and stems plus chenille 'grasses' and finished with a natural pebble and a glass nugget. Everything is mounted on a printed watercolour background paper in shades of yellow and green.

The white box frame is 27cm (10.5 ins) square and 33mm deep and has a hanging hook on the back.
