My mother collected sewing (and knitting) patterns. Mum's collection started before I was born (before the Cold War! that's all you're getting from me about my age!). All my clothes were made by her when I was young, including my underwear! She passed on her love of sewing, knitting and all kinds of crafting, to me in my genes, I suppose because, as soon as I was old enough, I started collecting my own 'vintage treasures' to add to mum’s accumulation, scouring charity shops and boot sales for them.

Full description

I loved the 'Classic' look of this pattern, the way the trousers draped, how the skirt fell and moved, the drop waist jacket and the easy wearing, scarf-neck top.

I know, time marches on and fashion changes annually, but some things always look good. Yes, the skirt's a little long, so is the jacket, but it's not hard to shorten the pattern (especially of the skirt) to fit however you want your look.

And I still think 'waist' high trousers are far more flattering for both women and men, than hipsters. Let's remember - I was around in the 1970's, when hipster jeans were all the rage..... for about a year, then sanity prevailed and the waistline was raised to where the waistline should be - at the waist!

Bust: 92cms/36”

Waist: 71cms/28”

Hip: 97cms/38”

This is a vintage paper pattern. It has been partially used and is complete. There are instructions in both English and French.

I had such high hopes when I purchased this paper pattern way back in the mid 80's (it was printed in 1985). Mainly, my hopes were that I was a size 14! Thankfully, I was (although..... now.....!).

I know you'll love this pattern. It was only partly used, most of it is still uncut. But I'm too big for this now so I'm passing the baton of style onto you.

Enjoy and blow their minds....!
