Kintsugi - golden joinery - is the Japanese art of repairing broken pots with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. The philosophy behind it is to treat the breakage and repair as part of the history of the object, rather than trying to disguise the damage. It can turn a rather ordinary object into a unique thing of beauty. We used gold ink to make the repair on this printed pot, as the light moves over the surface of the print the gold lines shine out.
We have Clematis armandii growing up the front of our home, it's perfume fills the air in Spring and it makes a highly scented cut flower.
