'The Caravan' is a textile applique artwork by textile artist Heidi Meier, and part of her 'Friendship and Fun' collection.
The Caravan shows a 1950s inspired pale yellow caravan in the country, near to a river's edge. Washing hangs up to dry and the children are playing both inside and outside the caravan. You may associate the artwork with a fun quirky nosalgic glimpse into days gone by or maybe it sums up the ideal holiday to you. Maybe you harbour a secret desire to travel the country in a caravan or maybe you just love the image!
The Caravan is made from layers of fabric which are free motion embroidered. Many hours of hand crafted work has gone into the preparation, construction and presentation of this artwork, so that it is ready to hang and grace your wall!
The artwork is mounted on an acid free cream mount and framed under glass with a solid oak frame. There is a signed short bio of the artist on the reverse.
The overall picture size (ie including frame) is 505mm wide by 450mm high (c19.75 inches wide by 17 inches high). The embroidery aperture window is approx 360mm wide by 300 high (14 inches wide by 12.25 inches high).
