‘Rail Network, Glasgow and West’. A visual interpretation of the rail lines and stations which branch and spread through Scotland’s largest city, and beyond.
The weaving line concept of adjoining circles is derived from the train wheels which move and intersect geometrically to create the structured form.
Originally created to bring coal to the city in the early eighteen hundreds, Glasgow’s rail network eventually became a public transport system from 1840 onwards and now provides links to every major UK city as well as to the many towns and regions of Glasgow itself.
From Balloch to Girvan, from Gourock to Caldercruix and everything in between, this is Glasgow and the west of Scotland's rail network in art form. To be enjoyed for it's composition and colour as well as it's network of familiar places and routes.
Giclee print size: 40 x 40cm (approx)
