MATERIALS - I use only high-quality silver bullion, all my jewellery is made from 100% recycled Sterling Silver.

I grew up within a family environment of three generations of needlewomen and at an early age became fascinated with my Grandmother’s talents! My love of textiles and haberdashery stem from the pleasure of rooting through a button box of brightly coloured ‘treasures’, the tangled skeins of embroidery threads and the collections of innumerable jewel-coloured reels of cotton.

Cotton reel and vintage button necklace.
Completely handmade from sterling silver in my studio in York.
The cotton reel measures 11mm in diameter and approx 12mm high. And the button is approx 12mm in diameter. The vintage button is part of a lovely selection sourced from a brocante in France.
You can let me know at the check out the colour cotton thread you'd like on the reel.
The thread is interchangeable at a later date if you fancy a change, just unthread and rethread with a cotton thread colour of your choice!
This piece is fully hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office. The hallmark is placed in a unique curve on the cotton reel to reflect the labelling found on vintage cotton reels.
The total necklace length of this piece is 30". I use loose sterling silver trace chain and make the fastenings. But let me know at the check out if you'd like a different length.
Packaged in a branded gift box, the necklace arrives complete with all the trimmings.
