Full description
These silver heart drop earrings has been inspired by Welsh lovespoons. Lovespoons are ornate wooden spoons which a young man would have traditionally carved and given to a women he loved, the symbols shown had different meanings. The hearts on these earrings represent love and the twisted stems which symbolise togetherness.
The earrings are made from recycled sterling silver sheet and 1mm diameter wire. The pieces of wire are twisted before being flattened using a hammer, hearts are cut out of the silver sheet and then the stems are soldered to the hearts. The edges are then smoothed using files and emery paper, once this is done I carefully give the heart it's shape using a punch and hammer. They're then polished before being attached to ear wires.
