I have considered making some of my designs in gold but at the moment gold prices are high so I looked for an alternative metal. Many antique pieces would have been made from gold filled metal. It is quite difficult to find gold filled sheet so when I happened across a supplier quickly got to work. No soldering was required with this design and the natural doming created by hammering over soft wood gave me the look I was after.

Full description
This stunning yet simple heart pendant is made using Gold filled metal. I have lightly textured the heart which heart is 2.8 mm long and 2.4 mm wide and is suspended from a 18 inch gold filled chain. The perfect piece that is appropriate for both work and evening wear.

What is Gold filled : For something to be considered gold filled, the gold content must exceed or equal 5%. Gold filled jewellery has a much thicker gold content and therefore much more durable, will not chip or tarnish and is no allergenic. Some antique gold filled jewellery has such high gold content that it can be worth as much as some solid gold pieces.
