Full description
A3 (29.7cm x 42 cm) screen-print entitled 'Sheffield City View No.8' printed in warm grey.
The print started out as a linocut, and then I transferred the image to a silk-screen to complete the hand-printed edition.
My eighth view of the city of Sheffield, this is a view in the city centre looking from near Fitzalan Square down towards the famous Park Hill flats and Park Square. In the foreground are the tram tracks leading out of town across the iron bridge to the north of the city.
As with a few of my city views, it might not be the most obvious choice, but I was interested in the contrast in architecture, with the brutal concrete flats, the more suburban houses and the patterns of lamps, poles, bridges and iron-work.
Warm grey System 3 ink on off-white 220gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of 60, hand-signed, titled and numbered.
The print image measures H25xW18cm.
The paper measures H29.7xW42cm.
Printed by myself at Sheffield Print Club, Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints.
All prints will be posted securely in a card tube and sent by first-class post (UK) or Airmail (rest of the world).
