I heard a recording of my favourite folk singer Shirley Collins singing her version of this song a few years ago, and it has forever stuck in my head. It is a beautiful song, and I felt moved to somehow represent it in a linocut print; 'If young men could sing like blackbirds and thrushes, how many young girls would go beating the bushes?'...

Full description
A3 (29.7cm x 42 cm) poster-print entitled 'Blackbirds and Thrushes' printed in green, brown, black and yellow.
This print was inspired partly due to my interest in UK garden birds, and also the old folk song, otherwise known as 'Hares On the Mountain', which dates back to the eighteenth century.
The poster is a professional digital print of an original linocut. It is printed on high quality 160g cream paper, hand-titled and signed.
The poster will be posted securely in a card tube.
