I love making things and my wife loves the naturlistic look when the bark remains attached, so I made a few small bowls. This is finished with a melamine lacquer, which Chestnut products say is safe for toys, and on top a light covering of bees wax to give a nice lustre.

135mm x 140mm x 65mm high. 285 grams A Piece of Seasoned ash, rescued from the wood pile and turned on the lathe to make a naturalistic bowl with Bark still attached. The flat side means it can easily tuck in on a mantle piece or shelf: ideal for those "nick knack" jewellery, or car keys etc
