This glass trinket bowl was fused by me in my studio. The glass was heated up to around 800 degrees celsius in a small glass fusing kiln. It was then brought to annealing temperature to make it strong. I was then returned to the kiln to fire the ceramic decal on. Any sharp edges were smoothed by my grinder and the glass then slumped to create a bowl shape. This whole process takes over 22 hours to complete.
This square trinket bowl has a marbled cream base with a vintage soap advert design and is approximately 10cm across. The design is made from a commercially available ceramic decal. Though designed as a trinket bowl, it might also make a good soap dish. An ideal present for someone you love.
Not suitable for children - this is made from real glass and needs to be treated with respect - it may have sharp edges if broken. It is, however, made from thick annealed glass so is fairly robust for everyday use.
