This is my interpretation of a May Pole especially for May Day.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I wanted to make a may pole but that exact shape does not lend itself to a suncatcher so I compromised with a design of 7 ribbons swilrling down from a central disc.
I decided to have a patriotic version so the ribbons are red, white and blue and infilled with some rather lovely clear bubbled glass.

I've framed the suncatcher with twisted wire for strength and neatness.
This is 13 cm in diameter and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass for each piece to ensure it is unique.
