In 2007 we visited Interlaken and I took the photo shown in the 5th picture of a foreground of red tulips with a backdrop of the beautiful Swiss Alps and the snow topped Eiger.
When I made this suncatcher I had this view in mind and decided to replace the red tulips with a field of red poppies.
I hope you like my interpretation of the view.

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It depicts a splash of bright red poppies, in front of field of golden wheat, a green meadow, green hills and then mountains, one snow-capped, against a blue sky.
.
This is a fusion - it combines stained glass with fused glass - the poppy field is a piece of fused glass which I made in my kiln then I designed the rest of the picture to fit around it.
I've framed the picture in clear glass with a delicate texture for good effect and then with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
This looks lovely when it hangs in the light of a window but can equally be used as a picture against a plain wall..
It is 14cm x 15.5cm and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached to the top.
All my pieces are unique. I use different shades, textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
This design cannot be exactly repeated as I cannot make an identical poppy field.
Photos 1 -4 are of this suncatcher . The 5th picture shows the previous and first I made to this design, now sold and also a photo of a beautiful view i took in Interlaken in 2007 which I used as the basis for my design.
