I am fascinated by spirals in nature; chambered nautilus, ammonite fossils, pine cones - all mathmatically perfect. They feature regularly in my work and are a theme that I return to often.

Full description

This is a handmade drypoint etching in blue of a cross section of a chambered nautilus seashell. This is the first print in an edition of 10. The plate size 16x21cm ( approx 6x8inch) and is printed on to heavyweight A4 size watercolour paper 21x30cm (approx8x12inch).

The third photo shows the plate and a different print example from the series to that being offered in this listing. Neither are included in this sale and are just to show an example of how the print was made.

The artwork will be shipped in a cellophane sleeve with cardboard front and back for added protection.

Whilst every care is taken in photographing the artwork please be aware that colours can vary according to your monitor settings.

The materials used in the painting are artist’s quality to ensure longevity but as with all original artwork it is best hung out of direct sunlight.

Copyright remains with the artist.

If you are interested in purchasing more than one artwork please contact me and I will make a new listing reserved for you with a combined shipping price.
