Full description
This is a unique original graphite pencil drawing of a giant tortoise with an ancient-looking face. He is crawling towards us over the grass. The deep wrinkles and crevices of the skin on his neck contrast with the almost scaly texture of his strong legs with their surprisingly big claws, and the hard layered panels of his shell built up over years and years. A soft graphite pencil was the perfect choice to show these different textures.
Drawn on high quality cartridge paper, the picture is presented in an off-white / pale cream colour mount, with a backing board and protected in a clear cellophane bag. Measuring (with mount) 18” wide by 14” tall (image size 14” by 10”) - that’s approximately 45 by 35 (35 by 25) in cm - it will fit a readily-available standard-size frame.
