I made the original piece as part of a beading competition - we had to make a Chatelaine and one of the objects I included was a needle case. I think it's an elegant design, quite restrained (for me), and it sat well with the other elements, which included my 'Baroque Tape Measure'.

Full description

PLEASE NOTE THIS LISTING IS FOR A TUTORIAL, NOT THE FINISHED ITEM

A tutorial for my Space Needle Case. This uses right angle weave, circular peyote, and embellishment to transform a simple wooden needle case into something rather splendid. Will suit intermediate beaders who have experience with RAW and peyote, and who have a good control of thread tension.

The nineteen page tutorial contains a full materials list, with suggestions for colour schemes, and every step is fully illustrated with a detailed diagram showing thread paths etc, as well as being written out clearly (you can see a sample page above).

You will need:

2 14mm Round Rivolis

Sets of seed beads in three colours (either identical or similar colours within a set, or just go wild!)

Main colour - sizes 15, 11 and 2.8mm drops (although size 8s or 3.4mm drops can be subsituted for the latter)

Highlight colour - sizes 15, 11 and 8

Secondary colour - size 11

Wooden needle case either long (91mm) or short (58mm)

Beadweaving needles, thread of your choice, scissors.

The PDF pattern will be sent to you via e-mail within 24 hours of payment clearing (usually much sooner, assuming it's not the middle of the night!).

As a beader who designs and sells largely to support my own out of control bead buying habit, I’m happy for you to make this design to sell (in small quantities only) so you can buy lots more beads (and tutorials), but please make sure you give me full credit as designer.
