We work with women in rural villages in India developing yarns through tradition skills. Spinning yarn is their only sources of income and by supporting these trades and families they maintain a quality of life living in their villages and supporting their families. With some of the profits from the selling of our yarns we have been putting the money back in to the schools in these villages, supplying them with their stationary, reading books and more. They have no pens, pencils, paper and resources. We have been very humbled by this school and the children involved. See the FOLKSY BLOG for our story and yarn journey.

This is a very unique and inspirational yarn made from newspapers! Now that is recycling at its best! Recycled Indian newspapers have been twisted into an art yarn by a women's co-op in India that we work with. This yarn has the indian print and colour! It is great for jewellery making, pendants, basket weaving, and arts and crafts. You can also knit and crochet with it too!
This listing is for a 10 yard yarn pack. Experiment with texture and handspun yarns!
