Always a joy to find these pretty flowers peeping out from the undergrowth, they are a reminder that Spring is on it's way.
Native to Great Britain their name comes from the Latin, Prima Rosa - the 'first rose', although they are not related to the rose family.
Even the great man himself, William Shakespeare mentions them in his play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' - 'And in the wood, where often you and I upon faint Primrose beds were wont to lie'.

Printed in five colours on a hand press. Signed, titled and numbered in pencil by the artist. Supplied in a cream mount.
Small edition of just 50 prints, (plus 5 Artists Proofs). Certificate of authenticity will be supplied with the print.
