I have always loved making Biscornu pin cushions mostly in cross stitch but it has been ages since I made one in patchwork. As my tin of small scrap of fabric was overflow once again I decided to make a few smaller patchwork items. This patchwork biscornu is the first of the patchwork pin cushions.

Full description
A beautiful large pin cushion created in crazy patchwork. The design shape of the pin cushion is called Biscornu which refers the fact it has many corners which may also be irregular. This pin cushion has the more usual eight corners or points but a biscornu may have more.
On one side the hand top stitching has been created with orange embroidery thread while the revised side has be hand stitched in yellow embroidery thread. The orange embroidery stitched side has a vintage green and gold colour button sewn into its centre this is mirrored on the reverse side with a large vintage peach colour button.
All around the edging there is a line of white pearlised beads which have been carefully hand sewn to the pin cushion. Onto each individual corner there is a little decoration of a checked button. The buttons used are red and white check and yellow and white check.
This pin cushion would look stunning sitting a dressing table displaying large beaded hat or hijab pins or simply sat next to a sewing machine filled with sewing pins.
The pin cushion is filled with anti-allergy polyester hollow fibre. This filling complies with the Furniture and Furnishing (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988.
Approximate size 5.5inches (14cm) wide by 2.5inches (9cm) deep.
