I recently made some new artwork that is inspired by Wroxeter Roman City in Shropshire and this is in exhibition in Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.
These cards are based upon the Roman herringbone floor at Wroxeter which bears the traces of time and human existence, although quite fragile as it has had to be repaired over the years.
I first made blind embossed cards without ink and then decided to print a colour - Prussian Blue which was really the colour in the shadows of the floor rather than the actual terracota of the tiles themselves.

Full description
My Herringbone design is inspired by a Roman herringbone floor at Wroxeter Roman City in Shropshire. I have carefully carved the design into lino and then hand printed it in the studio.
It is printed with Prussian Blue vegetable based ink onto smooth, white card 240gsm.
Each card comes in a cellophane wrapper and is supplied with a best quality white envelope. The card is blank inside for your own message.
Card size: 104mm x 152mm (4 x 6) - approx A6
Please note that due to the nature of the printing process, there may be very slight variations between the images and cards received.
