Full description
We have made this pretty boat mosaic by gluing pieces of beach glass to the bottom of an old glass jar we found on a local beach. All the glass has been tumbled so the pieces are rounded, silky smooth, and finely frosted. The jar bottom is gently curved as can be seen in picture 3, so the mosaic is quite three dimensional. The sun catcher looks different according to the light and background, so we have tried to show it in various conditions. The colours can be seen most easily in picture 4.
The sun catcher is 6.7 cm across and 1 cm deep. It comes with a piece of transparent thread.
Our sun catchers are made in Chudleigh, Devon, using materials we collect ourselves from local beaches. Each piece of glass is unique, so each sun catcher is unique. Because our raw materials have spent time on the seashore our products may have small imperfections, which we think is part of the charm of beach glass decorations. We only use materials which have rounded edges, which is why we tumble pieces which have rough edges (this continues the process begun by the waves) until they are smooth.
The sun catcher will be delivered by first class mail. We usually post items within one working day of receiving payment.
