Can you allow yourself to be seduced by the mermaid's song?
This little mermaid figurine is glazed on the reverse with a glossy transparent glaze to suggest that she has freshly emerged from the water, her tail shimmering behind her. Turquoise and green glazes are mingling over her tail and scales and her hair hangs down over her back, where sea flowers cling to her tresses.
A handbuilt stoneware sculpture decorated with incised marks and underglaze colours fired to 1225 centigrade.
Head/body 80mm tall, tail section 95mm tall.
