I made a series of 12 prints of Salford after making my Indian railway series - India was so bright and colourful and I had made 12 black and white prints depicting aspects of my journey; so I thought I'd follow this with a bright, colourful collection of prints of my bus route through - Salford into Manchester city centre where I worked and was also a strudent at Manchester Metropolitan University. The route goes through Worsley, Swinton, Irlams o' the Height, Salford then Manchester city centre. Happy days!! I now live in Cumbria but know those streets sooo well!

This an original hand-pulled etching with aquatint, printed on white acid free paper - please contact me if you are looking for a series of prints as some of the Salford series are on different papers.
This is an Artists Proof, it was the first print I made of this plate before printing future editions in yellow and green.
Print size 6"x 5" (15.5cm x 13cm)
Paper size approx. 12"x12"
This is a print of under the bridge opposite Salford train station on Bridge Street, Salford, UK.
Each Salford print is 2 colours - I inked the plate with one colour and made a print, then re-inked with another colour (often wiping sections away) and printed again over the first print - It was very fiddly and time consuming with much room for error as I found!! There are some inky fingerprints on the backs of some the prints where I have manoeuvred the paper in to place - no prints on the front though!
