I made a series of 12 prints of Salford after making my Indian railway series - India was so bright and colourful and I had made 12 black and white prints, so I thought I'd follow this with a bright, colourful collection of prints of my bus route through the (often rather grey) streets of Salford into Manchester city centre where I worked at the time.
This is an etching of the houses you pass when the bus goes along the East Lancashire Road.

This an original hand-pulled etching with aquatint, printed on BFK acid free paper.

Print size 6"x 5" (15.5cm x 13cm)
Paper size approx. 12"x12"
Each Salford print is 2 colours - I inked the plate with yellow and made a print, then re-inked with another orange (often wiping sections away) and print again over the first print - It was very fiddly and time consuming with much room for error as I found!! There are fingerprints on the backs of some the prints where I have manoeuvred the paper in to place - no prints on the front though!
