Full description
One of a kind Art Necklace. Found image of artwork mounted under glass and framed in an antique copper frame. It is believed that it was during sittings for this portrait that Janey Morris and Rossetti became drawn to each other, possibly rekindling an attraction from 1857 when she was "discovered " by Rossetti in Oxford at the theatre. This discovery led to her modelling for Rossetti and William Morris and William Morris married her. The whole portrait shows her in an amazing teal-blue silk dress, no corset, the antithesis of Victorian buttoned up stiff costume. Lovely blue beads and figured brass beads complement the picture.
