Set of two made to order bread bakers with a sun and moon motif. Handmade Stoneware Pottery by littlewrenpottery on Folksy.
I love the smell of freshly baked bread and it's hard to beat the quality of a home cooked loaf, I originally created this set of bread bakers for my mum who loves to bake both sweet and savory breads at home.
Each of the break bakers is made by hand throwing them on my potters wheel from durable British stoneware clay. Each piece features a gently tapered funnel shape so that the bread rises up to create a domed top and a sun and moon medallion decorate the outside of each one.
The inside of each baker has been left unglazed, as you use the pot it becomes 'seasoned' with the taste of the bread each time it's used. If you want to season your pot I would recommend light hand washing with a damp cloth. You can gently butter and flour each baker for the quick release of loaves or leave them without release takes longer but the loaf should peel away from the sides as the pot cools.
Each baker will be approximately 5.5 inches (14 cm) in diameter and 3.8 inches (9 cm) in height.
