Full description
Inspiration for these buttons came from discovering an old lino cut I had made for an Easter card design. Looking at the textures of spotty feathers and mottled eggs I decided to press the lino into some porcelain and see what happened.
The result was these intriguing buttons with close up details of feathers and eggs forming an abstract pattern which has been highlighted with a blue and black underglaze mix, then covered with a transparent glaze for a rich glossy finish. The buttons have gone to a high stoneware firing so they are strong but should be handwashed once attached to a garment to ensure no harm comes to them!
